Device Components

What is a Device Component?

Device Components in AppMockUp serve as containers for Instance Screenshots. Each Device Component corresponds to a specific smartphone or tablet and includes a set of Instance Screenshots that inherit properties from the Main Screenshots.

Think of Device Components as horizontal rows in a grid that hold all the Instance Screenshots for a specific smartphone or tablet.

Let's say you're working on a project that has one Device Component, the iPhone 16 Pro Max. The project has six Main Screenshots that serve as the template for each Instance Screenshot in a Device.

Now, you want to add another Device Component, such as the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. When you add this new Device Component, six new Instance Screenshots will be generated that inherit the properties of the six Main Screenshots.

This means that if some of the Instance Screenshots for a Device Component have overrides, these overrides will NOT be automatically copied forward to the new Device's Instance Screenshots.

However, you can easily copy and paste these overrides as needed to customize the design for the new Instance Screenshots.
